Karen Otsig, RMT, Doula
Karen Otsig is a life long North Shore resident
and loves working in North Vancouver. She has established a very solid
client base at the Bloom Family Wellness Centre over the last 6 years! She greets everyone she meets with a
smile and her warm and welcoming personality can be felt the minute you
walk into our office!
She is a graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and is
registered wth the College of Massage Therapists
of British Columbia. Karen has also completed the Douglas College Doula
Training Course and is a member of the Doula Services Association.
Karen’s massage therapy practice includes treatment of a wide
variety of conditions including overuse injuries, pain and stress,
headaches, postural imbalances, digestive and respiratory disorders and PMS
to name just a few. Karen welcomes anyone who is interested in receiving
the many and varied benefits that massage therapy has
to offer.
Karen has a special interest in health issues that affect women and part
of her practice includes working with pregnant women both pre- and
postnatal. Karen has spent considerable time researching and studying the
many and varied benefits that massage has to offer
women in the childbearing year.
Karen is also an instructor at The Utopia Academy of Massage
Therapy.
Sommer Setterstrom, RMT, Craniosacral
Therapist
Sommer Setterstrom
graduated from the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in June 2005
and is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of British
Columbia and a member of the Massage Therapy Association of BC. Sommer also has taken courses in Cranial Sacral
Therapy, myofascial release and visceral
manipulation.
Sommer's therapeutic goal with each client is
to seek the source of injury - rather than treating the symptoms - by using
a variety of techniques including deep tissue, muscle energy, Cranial
Sacral Therapy, myofascial release, trigger point
therapy and hydrotherapy. Her clients range from pre/post natal as well as
children and infants to national competitive athletes and triathletes (including the weekend warrior!) Sommer also teaches infant massage at Pomegranite Community Midwife Centre in Vancouver and
is an Indoor Cycling Instructor at YYoga in
Vancouver.
Outside the clinic, Sommer trains for
triathlons, and is an adventure racer who loves yoga and spending time
outdoors. Her dream is to complete Ironman Canada!
Angie Mrau,
RMT
Angie is especially pleased to join the team at Bloom Family Wellness.
She is a graduate from Utopia Academy and is a registrant of the College of
Massage Therapists of British Columbia.
Angie's training has prepared her to safely address a variety of
concerns through massage therapy including soft tissue injuries, systemic
conditions, scar tissue, neurological disorders and stress management.
Angie has a strong interest in women's health. In particular, she looks
forward to supporting women throughout their motherhood journey.
Angie has been a certified yoga instructor for eight years and believes
that yoga is a valuable addition to one's self care. Angie is dedicated to
providing genuine holistic care for each individual and looks forward to
assisting you in the enhancement of your health and wellbeing.
