What Are Custom Foot Orthotics?

Custom foot orthotics are specially designed shoe inserts that aim to correct the way you stand, walk, or run. Our feet serve as the foundation for our bodies, supporting us in daily activities and absorbing shock with every step. When there's an imbalance in your feet, it can lead to discomfort and pain not just in the feet, but throughout the body including the knees, hips, and lower back. Orthotics help by providing the necessary support to restore natural foot function and alleviate these issues. They work by gently repositioning the foot, improving overall posture, reducing fatigue, and enhancing mobility. Custom orthotics are tailored to your unique foot structure, ensuring maximum comfort and effectiveness.

Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a drug-free, non-invasive manual approach to health care. Chiropractors must have an undergraduate degree prior to attending Chiropractic College. Their training consists of four intensive years of chiropractic education, which includes a one year internship under the guidance of a senior clinician where they develop and refine their skills. Chiropractors assess disorders related to the spine, nervous system and joins of the extremities and provide diagnosis, treatment and prevention of those disorders. The primary goal of chiropractic manipulation, also referred to an an adjustment, is to treat areas of decreased movement in the joints of the spine and extremities which can create a reaction in surrounding soft tissues (ligaments, muscles and nerves) resulting in pain, dysfunction and muscular spasm. Dr. Mandy utilizes the following modalities in her treatments: Spinal Manipulative Therapy (SMT)/Adjustments, Soft Tissue Therapy, Kinesio Taping ®, Thumper®, Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), Pre and Post-natal Chiropractic, Webster Technique, and Custom Fitted Orthotics.
